🖤 ದಾಮೋದರ್ ನದಿ
▪️ ದಾಮೋದರ್ ನದಿ ಚೋಟನಾಗ್ಪುರ್ ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಭೂಮಿಯ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಏರಿ ಬಿರುಕು ಕಣಿವೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.
ದಾಮೋದರ್ ನದಿ ಭಾರತದ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಾದ ಜಾರ್ಖಂಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಹರಿಯುವ ನದಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ದಾಮೋದರ್ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಮುದಾರ್ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ
ದಾಮು ಎಂಬ ಪದವು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ದಾ ಎಂದರೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ
ಖನಿಜ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಕಣಿವೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಗಣಿಗಾರಿಕೆಗೆ ನೆಲೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು
ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆ
▪️ ಇದು ಬರಾಕರ್ ನಂತಹ ಹಲವಾರು ಉಪನದಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಉಪನದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ,
ಕೊನಾರ್, ಬೊಕಾರೊ, ಹಹರೋ, ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ
ಬಾರಕರ್ ದಾಮೋದರ್ ನ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಉಪನದಿಯಾಗಿದೆ
ಜಲವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆಗೆ ಕಣಿವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೆವೆರಲ್ ಅಣೆಕಟ್ಟುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ
ಕಣಿವೆಯನ್ನು "ಭಾರತದ ರುಹ್ರ್" ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ
ಮೊದಲ ಅಣೆಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ದಾಮೋದರ್ ನದಿಯ ಉಪನದಿಯಾದ ಬರಾಕರ್ ನದಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಲಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ
ಇದು ವಿನಾಶಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರವಾಹವನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ, ಇದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಅದು "ಬಂಗಾಳದ ದುಃಖ" ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಿತು
ಈಗ ಹಲವಾರು ಅಣೆಕಟ್ಟುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ಪಳಗಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ
ಇದು ಕೋಲ್ಕತ್ತಾದಿಂದ 48 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಹುಗ್ಲಿ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ಸೇರುತ್ತದೆ

▪️ Damodar river rises in the hills of the Chotanagpur plateau and flows through a rift valley.
▪️Damodar River is a river flowing across the Indian states of Jharkhand and West Bengal.
▪️Damodar River is known as Damudar
▪️The word damu stands for holy and da signifies water
▪️Rich in mineral resources, the valley is home to large-scale mining and
industrial activity
▪️ It has a number of tributaries and subtributaries, such as Barakar,
Konar, Bokaro, Haharo, etc
▪️The Barakar is the most important tributary of the Damodar
▪️Several dams have been constructed in the valley, for the generation of hydroelectric power
▪️The valley is called “the Ruhr of India”
▪️The first dam was built across the Barakar River, a tributary of the Damodar river
▪️It used to cause devastating floods as a result of which it earned the name "Sorrow of Bengal"
▪️Now the river is tamed by constructing numerous dams
▪️It joins the Hugli River 48 km below Kolkata
